TA Training Program in the Department of English
We have about 50 TAs (MA and PhD, staffing ENGL courses in all levels of undergraduate teaching) a semester. We run a pedagogy workshop series; these workshops, which take up a broad range of topics, are held on Thursday afternoons in Term 1. TAs who attend 8 out of 9 of those, as well as the TA Orientation, receive a teaching certificate for their academic dossiers. I attach here the ENGL TA Handbook, which I'll be revising (again) in late December.
