Vector notation and choice | 1 | 23:47, 13 April 2014 |
I'm quite confused with the notation on vectors and the choices of vectors here.
On notation: Is it standard in MATH152 to denote by the vector that goes from point A to point B. Isn't a common notation for this and so maybe we could go to make sense of what the vector represents.
On choice: We have a triangle ABC and so whichever way we use the notation above, what make sense is to look at two vectors starting at the same point in the triangle. So in my notation, looking at and for example. But in this solution, we look at and (in my notation still), which of course is mathematically equivalent and does yield a good answer, but I don't see why confusing me and students with such a choice is a good idea.
