I would like to see a hint on the difference of n=1 vs n>1.

Also, please motivate how you come up with A. Talk about the kernel of A-B.

Done - do students know what a kernel is at this stage?

Better, but why so complicated? Show it for a 2x2 matrix, then say for larger n just add zeros.
