Science:Math Exam Resources/Courses/MATH100 C/December 2024/Question 12 (c)/Solution 1

From UBC Wiki

We consider the fraction of income paid as tax: T(x)x.

Compute the limit as x: limxT(x)x=limxx3x(1+2x2)=limxx21+2x2.

Divide numerator and denominator by x2: limx11x2+2=12.

Thus, for very large incomes, approximately 12 of income is paid as tax.
