Norman MacKenzie
Norman Archibald MacRae MacKenzie (1894-1986) was the third president of the University of British Columbia. Born in Pugwash, Nova Scotia, MacKenzie served overseas in the Canadian Army during the First World War.[1][2] He was the president of UBC from 1944 to 1962.[1] Through 1966 to 1969, MacKenzie served in the Canadian Senate representing University-Point Grey.[2]
MacKenzie is the namesake of the Norman MacKenzie House, which was his residence as president from 1951 to 1962.[3]
