Walk-in technology support is available at the Chapman Learning Commons Help Desk on Level 3 of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre. Assistance is provided with:

Computers & Software

Chapman Learning Commons (located on level 3 of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre) has computers available for you! We have 10 PC and 30 Mac workstations located in our main space. 8 quick scanners are also available for use.

Students, faculty and staff can access our computers with a CWL login. Community members can access our computers using an OpenAthens guest login.

If you are experiencing technical issues, please contact the Learning Commons Information Desk during operating hours or submit a ticket to UBC IT. (Please include your name, email address, CWL and the specifics of the issue, including workstation number)

The 10 PC Workstations have the following software installed:
All PC workstations have sound cards, USB ports, and a DVD-RW drive.
Mac Workstations
30 Mac workstations are available on level 3 of the Chapman Learning Commons. More Macs are available on level 3 of the Music, Art & Architecture Library, on level 3 of Koerner Library and on level 2 of the Law Library.

Mac workstations in the Music, Art & Architecture Library also have:
In the Chapman Learning Commons, there are 8 scanners available at the Mac workstations, including an express scanning station with a ten minute time limit. All Mac workstations come with an SD card reader on the back right side of the monitor.
