Computing Resources for Students

The faculty has several computing facilities for our students.


MacMillan Building

The Learning Centre

Undergraduate Computer Lab - MCM 192 & MCM 194

This lab is primarily used for teaching purposes, but is available to students when there are no classes scheduled. Students registered in any LFS degree program can present their UBCcard to the card reader to gain access.

Hours 7AM - 11PM

The room alarm will activate at 11:30PM. A warning buzzer will sound at 11:15PM, please leave the room before the alarm is activated.


MCM 192

There are 20 workstations and a black & white laser printer in this lab.


MCM 194

There are 9 workstations and 5 web kiosks available in this lab. The black & white laser printer is only accessible from the 9 workstations. The web kiosks have no printing access.


Graduate Computer Lab - MCM 366

This lab is reserved for graduate students, there are 4 workstations with a black & white printer.

Getting an Account for the labs

LFS is using the UBCIT provided EAD Windows domain which utilises CWL for authentication.

Follow these instructions to setup your EAD account.

Once you have completed the sign up process, the account will be provisioned for you in about 15 minutes.
