Selected article for our discussion
- Scott, S. (2014). Practising what we preach: Towards a student-centred definition of feedback. Teaching in Higher Education, 19(1), 49-57.
Some pointers for discussion:
Q1. From your own experience or based on readings or other sources, to what extent do you agree that “the provision of feedback... has most influence on student achievement” (p.49)?
Q2. On page 52, the author provides a definition of feedback based on the results of her research. What surprised you about this definition? In what ways did it confirm what you already know/believe to be true?
Q3. What, if anything, will you take from this article (e.g., insight, factual piece of information, other) and apply in your own teaching and feedback practices?
