The Plan?

During our group discussions we will highlight resources based on the questions that emerge, add them to the respective wiki pages and share them out to all here.

Resources for Teaching - Group 1

Resources for Teaching - Group 2

Maintain a balance between content coverage and concept reinforcement

  • Maybe keep text to a minimum...reference material and concept
  • Stack of index cards - at the end of the second/third lecture (Judy asks a few quick questions on the index cards...and then pass back to her)
  • Extend the face to face classroom by using Connect - http://elearning.ubc.ca/connect (learning management system) to post your PDF's and/or powerpoints, discussions, self-assessment quiz, submit an assignment, etc
  • Judy breaks up her lecture - with lots of activities...youtube videos, groups dialogue, clickers (http://elearning.ubc.ca/toolkit/clickers/) for student engagement...
