Welcome to the Waterjet Cutting Page! Here you can find information about our ProtoMAX Water Jet Cutter. If you would like to use the waterjet cutter, please contact the Makerspace Technician (Kevin) to book a time.

Software: The ProtoMAX Waterjet Cutter requires OMAX Layout and OMAX Make software both of which are installed on the Makerspace Waterjet laptop, ready to use.

Use Fee: Because of the high cost of maintaining and operating a waterjet cutter, there is a fee of $2.50 per minute use for use for students in design courses. This will come directly from your team budget.

Using the Waterjet Cutter

The waterjet cutter is only to be used under the supervision of a trained TA or the Makerspace Technician. If you would like to use the waterjet cutter, please consult with someone on the teaching team first. The information provided below does not replace training. It is provided so that you may come prepared to use the machine (or if you're just curious how it works).
