Open Badges Project Assessment Rubric

The Project Assessment Rubric will be used to analyze the information from the requests forms to implement open badges in new UBC projects. The rubric is meant to provide guidance to the Open Badges UBC team when selecting new projects for open badge implementation. The rubric will be used to align the project requests with:

  • Technologies currently developed and available for badge delivery (e.g. Wordpress, Connect)
  • Open badge use cases in the areas of motivation, credentials and pedagogy
  • Progressive and innovative open badge implementations

Badge-based Goals The goals identified in the question, "What goals will badges help you accomplish in your project", are:


1) Beyond the scope of the current project implementation.
2) Requires significant technical development from the Open Badges UBC Technical Team.
3) Requires more support from the Open Badges Implementation Team than can be provided.

Assessment The project lead has not agreed to implement the Open Badges UBC assessment into the project. The project lead has conditionally agreed to implement the Open Badges UBC assessment with additional information. The project lead agrees to implement the Open Badges UBC assessment.
