Documentation:EML Where to find it
At EML, we use several different tools to handle documentation:
- Public-facing and promotional content: EML website (http://eml.ubc.ca/)
- Public-facing technical and non-confidential EML documentation: UBC wiki (https://wiki.ubc.ca/Emerging_Media_Lab)
- Drafts and working documents: Microsoft Teams
- Confidential documentation (Financial, HR, etc.): Confluence, Microsoft Teams
When creating a new document, first ask yourself who needs to see it. EML staff can access Confluence and TeamShare; anyone can access the EML website and UBC wiki.
Linking between documentation repositories
Making direct links between pages on the UBC wiki and Confluence—for example—should be kept to a minimum.
Note: Provided they do not contain any personal information, you may write the file path or address of a TeamShare document on any platform.
Editing documentation
When editing this document, make edits on the UBC Wiki only, and then have the Lab Coordinator (emergingmedia.lab@ubc.ca) copy the content to other places.
