Locate the "Long link" of the video in youtube:

For example, to locate the "Long link " of the video: http://youtu.be/stdJd598Dtg

  • click on "Share"
  • click on the "Options" drop down
  • check the "Long link" checkbox
  • the link is display as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stdJd598Dtg

Wordpress Usage:

  • Click on the "Embed a video from YouTube" button: Embed-youtube.png
  • Enter the "Long link" and click "Okay": Embed-youtube2.png
  • The resulting shorcode is: [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stdJd598Dtg[/youtube]
