Hey guys!

Just wanted to kickstart the group answer :) What do you think is the best way to organize our answer? I did a prezi for mine as I liked organizing that way but we can also stick with a wiki page. Also, since there are 4 questions and 4 of us, I was thinking that we could each pick one question and combine all our individual answers on that. I would like to do #2 (Entry) if that is ok with you guys :) Let me know!

PS: I did my individual answer on 3 pathogens that could cause the disease but I think everyone else just did it on R. Rickettsii so I think we should just focus on that

Hi Kiran!

I don't know how to make a prezi, but i'm willing to learn if that's what we choose to do. I have no preference. :) I'd like to do question #3, multiplication and spread. And I'm in agreement about sticking with R. rickettsii.

MartaMroczek (talk)04:07, 24 March 2015

Thanks Marta! I can create the prezi and add my stuff to it and share it with you. Can you please provide me with your email? Prezi is similar to powerpoint --> you can add your info with whatever visuals you want and I can help edit the animations etc.

Also, about sticking with R. rickettsia, I was looking at the individual responses of the group doing Microbiology Lab and they investigated at least 3 different pathogens. Should we expand beyond just R. rickettsia? Did Prof Kelly make any comments about your focus on just R. rickettsia in your individual assignment?

KiranRikhraj (talk)16:24, 25 March 2015

Hi Kiran,

My email is martamroczek3@gmail.com.

The questions for the microbiology lab questions specifically ask for 3+ pathogens to investigate, while ours does not. So I don't feel we need to. I did not get any thing in my feedback telling me to investigate other pathogens & I got a very good grade/feedback on it. I think R. Rickettsia is the one we should focus on. The patient's name is Rick, after all ;)

PS. Have you gotten in contact with our other group members by any chance?

MartaMroczek (talk)17:34, 25 March 2015

Hey guys! My apologies for checking this really late. I'll do #1, the encounter. As for my individual response, Dr. Kelly did not mention anything about expanding my pathogen list, so I think it will be fine to stick with only R. Rickettsia :) Also, I am worried that if we have too much information and text-heavy, Prezi will be too overwhelming. In my personal opinion, I think sticking with the wiki will be better (with images). But I'm fine with working with Prezi if everyone thinks Prezi could work too! (my email is esleelj@gmail.com)

Let me know! :)

Hey guys!

Sticking with R. rickettsii sounds good to me! Haha I never noticed the whole "Rick" and "Ricketsii" observation Marta - good one! :) No need to apologize Sulmi! I agree with you on the text-heavy part but I think we can work around it by breaking up each question into smaller components eg. I split my question into "how do these bacteria enter into the human host and where do they take up residence" and "What are the molecular, cellular and/or physiological factors at play in this site specificity and in the initial adherence step?" --> I had two separate bubbles for that in my prezi so it wasn't a huge chunk of text at once. That way I could also add pics etc

I have sent you both the prezi and let me know what you guys think. I would be more than happy to help with editing stuff to make it more visually appealing if you would rather work on wiki, I don't mind switching! :)

Thanks guys!
