Course talk:MATH110/003/Groups/Group 05/Basic Skills
Hello again Group 5!
Megan and Paige have elaborated on Charly's Knowings/not knowings, and made the section where one or two of us may not get the concept(practice these) section. PaigeHolloway 03:20, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Hi Group,
So, as you all know we have to make a proposal for our contributions to the basic skills project by Friday, Nov. 12. We haven't added anything to the basic skills page that I created (where we decide what we all know, what some of us know, and what none of us know) so I think we should list what we know on this page under our names and then I will organize it under our groups basic skills page after I get everyone's information. You can find the basic skills here http://wiki.ubc.ca/Course:MATH110/003/Basic_Skills.
Charly, Megan & Paige:
What we know:
- Basic functions (polynomials, radical, trigonometric, inverse trig, exponential, logarithmic, absolute value)
- finding domain
- finding range
- solving functions
- Solving inequalities
- reading graphs of functions
- mathematical writing
- areas and volumes
- distance and lines
- trigonometry and pythagorean theorem
Most of group knows:
- Basic Functions
- Operations on graphs of functions
- Composition of Functions
- intersections of functions
- polynomial long division
- Finding intercepts of functions
What we don't know:
- Behaviour at endpoints of domain
- graphs of functions
- construction of graphs
