Hi Tanuj,
Nice work! Your page is well written and informative. I have a few suggestions:
- I think you should revise your abstract and give an overview of what the wiki page covers.
- The background section could be placed above the Advantages and Challenges section.
- A bit more information about how other models compare to the hierarchical model would be helpful as well.
Scores:
- [5] The topic is relevant for the course.
- [5] The writing is clear and the English is good.
- [5] The page is written at an appropriate level for CPSC 522 students (where the students have diverse backgrounds).
- [5] The formalism (definitions, mathematics) was well chosen to make the page easier to understand.
- [2] The abstract is a concise and clear summary.
- [5] There were appropriate (original) examples that helped make the topic clear.
- [4] There was appropriate use of (pseudo-) code.
- [5] It had a good coverage of representations, semantics, inference and learning (as appropriate for the topic).
- [5] It is correct.
- [4] It was neither too short nor too long for the topic.
- [5] It was an appropriate unit for a page (it shouldn't be split into different topics or merged with another page).
- [5] It links to appropriate other pages in the wiki.
- [5] The references and links to external pages are well chosen.
- [4] I would recommend this page to someone who wanted to find out about the topic.
- [4] This page should be highlighted as an exemplary page for others to emulate.
Hi Tanuj I found the page informative and interesting. UBC Thunder bots example was awesome. Some of my suggestions are:
- I felt the abstract was small.
- Maybe you can put the advantages and challenges in a bullet format for readability.
- Just like DandanWang has mentioned, a little more information on other kinds of design models and their contrast with hierarchical models would be nice.
Hi Tanuj,
I have read your work, and I think it is a very good draft, very informative. My part is about the control theory and I also shared your link in my page. I like your example of the robot, which is very detailed and make the hierarchical strategy and design mode easy to understand.
Here is some suggestions:
1. Is it better to move the background knowledge to the very beginning? which would make it easy for the readers to get well prepared.
2. Can you add some additional information on the other kinds of design model, like centralized control or else, to compare with the hierarchical design pattern, and specify more on what kind of systems would should be designed in hierarchy, and why, and what kind should not be designed in hierarchy, I think most people would focus more on the choice of the design pattern.
