Welcome to the Psychology 537: Ethics and Professional Issues Wiki

One of the major goals of this course is to identify and prioritize relevant ethical principles and laws to resolve ethical dilemmas using an 11-step method. Each week, a new ethical vignette will be posted and you will be asked to contribute an entry for one of the eleven steps. Over the course of the term, you must contribute at least one entry for each of the steps (excluding steps 8-10). Please identify your entry using your initials, as your participation in this assignment will be graded. More than one person may contribute to each step, as each may have different ideas or views. However, by the end of the week, each step should have at least 1 comment. The class responses will be printed and available as a resource for you to use in the final exam. At the bottom of this page are links to the individual vignettes.

Before you get started, a few pointers and ground rules:

1) If you have questions about how to make a posting, please go to Help:Editing [1] or view the "Wikis in Plain English" video [2]. You will need to login with your CWL to be able to make changes to the wiki. Don't forget to save the page when you finish.

2) Although a wiki is sometimes used to create a collective document in which earlier entries are changed and updated by subsequent users, I'll ask that you not alter anyone else's comments. Please add your own comments, leaving the original entries intact so that we can see a group of threaded messages evolve in which you can build on and respond to one another's comments. In this way, the wiki will serve as a structured group discussion.

3) Please keep keep entries respectful and confine your comments to the vignette under discussion.
