Course:PSYC365/2010WT1/

From UBC Wiki

Psychology 365 Winter 2010

Things to do here:

  • fill in the glossary of terms for the review for the final exam
  • summarize sections of the course
  • ...
  • ...
  • critique all these silly additions to the format of the course (or better yet, suggest your own!)
  • find my (delibrate) spelling errors and fix them ;)

Rules

  1. The first rule of the course wiki is that you talk about the course wiki! (Otherwise no one will want to work with it...)
  2. The second rule of the course wiki is that you talk about the course wiki!
  3. The only real rule of the course wiki is that you feel free to add to and edit what others have written. Treat everything on it as your own! Most wiki's are edited by just a few people while the majority avoids doing anything in fear of getting someone's way.

General help with wiki editing

Editing wikis like this one is a real pain. There's a short leaning curve until you 'get' the idea of wiki markup syntax, but after that it's fairly easy to get things done. There are many advanced features that you can happily ignore.

To edit a given page: press the 'edit' button at the top of the page.

Once done editing, press 'show preview' to see how your changes will look, and then press 'save page' to save the page! (It's really important that we all save the pages, if we don't they might become extinct!)

Getting logged in

Right, sorry, I forgot to mention that you have to log in to make changes. To log in press the Campus Wide Login button in the top right corner of any of these pages. Once you log in, you are taken to the UBC wiki main page so you'll have to re-enter this pages URL or re-click the link to it. (Yes, it's silly. Welcome to the world of wikis.)

To stay up to date with changes to the pages here you can 'watch' particular pages. Once logged in, press the 'watch' button at the top of any page. You have to do this once for each page (so once for the main page, once for the glossary, once for any other page...). Then, if you want, you can get the wiki to email you any time any of the pages you are watching get changed. The option for this is somewhere in 'my preferences' at the top right of the page (but it's really just for die-hards and people interested in keeping things ship-shape :P )
