Agenda
Midterm report
- Comments reviewed
- Updated most parts
Final report
- Ed's sent out the format
- Start working on it this weekend
Recovery
- Looked into the prestrain as a function of temperature
- Compared the time for 0.58 vs 1.08 at 50% recovery
- Going to set pre-strain as a constraint else it is too complicated
Final Model
- Done!
- Preliminary runs
Economic Analysis
- Paint bake booth
- batch oven:good for curing and heat treatment, <500oC
- obtained specifications
- waiting for quotes
Minutes
Report
- Edit and update
- Recovery: assumed strain for 1 value but done research to show that it has a large effect so people need to be aware of the restriction
Final Model
- Nodes 6,2,6
- Temperature, flat, not gradient-fewer nodes
- Time step depends on dx, dx depends on thickness
- CONSTRAINT: 1 set of thickness
- Heat generation of epoxy is small-DOUBLE CHECK
- Recovery is always faster
- Don't use recovery as limiting for now, run peak strength and log recovery strength
- Compare 5000, 6000 at 200 degrees. How much softening do you get? And strength?
- Plot 3 models, isothermally 100, 150, and 200 degrees- what do they look like?
- Compare final model results to Newtonian
- Think about implications to it
Next week
- Basic economic analysis
