Attendees

Chad, Mandy, Shauna, Zoe, Andy and Kyle

Agenda

Midterm report

  • Comments reviewed
  • Updated most parts

Final report

  • Ed's sent out the format
  • Start working on it this weekend

Recovery

  • Looked into the prestrain as a function of temperature
    • Compared the time for 0.58 vs 1.08 at 50% recovery
    • Going to set pre-strain as a constraint else it is too complicated

Final Model

  • Done!
  • Preliminary runs

Economic Analysis

  • Paint bake booth
    • batch oven:good for curing and heat treatment, <500oC
    • obtained specifications
    • waiting for quotes

Minutes

Report

  • Edit and update
  • Recovery: assumed strain for 1 value but done research to show that it has a large effect so people need to be aware of the restriction

Final Model

  • Nodes 6,2,6
  • Temperature, flat, not gradient-fewer nodes
  • Time step depends on dx, dx depends on thickness
  • CONSTRAINT: 1 set of thickness
  • Heat generation of epoxy is small-DOUBLE CHECK
  • Recovery is always faster
    • Don't use recovery as limiting for now, run peak strength and log recovery strength
  • Compare 5000, 6000 at 200 degrees. How much softening do you get? And strength?
  • Plot 3 models, isothermally 100, 150, and 200 degrees- what do they look like?
  • Compare final model results to Newtonian
  • Think about implications to it

Next week

  • Basic economic analysis
