Defining the Concept and Its Importance

Insert text/figures...as per Section 1 requirements.

The purpose of Section 1 is to explain to the reader what your term is (e.g., define the concept), as well as explain the importance of the topic in the context of childhood movement experiences. When providing a rationale for why your topic is important for early childhood educators, teachers, or grassroots coaches to understand, you are provided a great deal of flexibility for the approach you take. For example, if applicable, you may choose to ground the importance of the topic in statistics and/or provide a summary of appropriate research, demonstrating the importance of the topic to a child’s healthy development and motor behaviour. This section is given a word limit of 500 words. See the marking rubric on your course Canvas.

Role in Childhood Development and Contemporary Considerations

Insert text/figures...as per Section 2 requirements.

The purpose of Section 2 is to explain to the reader the role your topic plays in the healthy, development of the child and/or to the proficient performance of movement; as  well as to identify important contemporary issues that early childhood educators, teachers, or grassroots coaches need to be aware of (and the potential impact of those issues on childhood movement experiences). The approach you to take to your topic is flexible as there is a large variety of topics and you must choose the approach that best suits your topic. However, your discussion must be based on scholarly information. This section is given a word limit of 750 words. See marking rubric on Canvas.
