Course:CPSC312-2023-marketAnalysisTools

From UBC Wiki

Authors: Sahaj, Rohit

What is the problem?

We are attempting to investigate the possibility that Prolog is suitable for creating a suite of market analysis tools that can be used to give either a "Good Buy" or "Bad Buy" rating to any company listed on the US stock market.

What is the something extra?

We are going to try to scrape the web for live information and use an API for historical data to calculate the Price-to-Earnings Ratio, Moving Average etc. of a ticker symbol inputted by the user. Additionally, we will be creating an effective interface for the user to interact with the program.

What did we learn from doing this?

(This should be written after you have done the work.)What is the bottom-line? Is functional programming suitable for (part-of) the task? Make sure you include the evidence for your claims.
