Course:Academic English Support Program/Objectives

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the program, students will be able to:

identify the strengths and weaknesses of their current English abilities;
formulate a learning plan to address linguistic weaknesses;
obtain focused help in reading academic writing, seminar participation, lecture-based learning and pronunciation as required;
access additional resources required to improve their overall English proficiency.

Required Texts

No textbook is required for this program, although you may be required to buy a textbook if you choose to take one of the Writing Centre courses.

Readings, video and audio files are drawn primarily from the academic literature, interviews, and lectures.
