Everyone at EML:

Onboarding

Being part of the EML team means you have to gain access to all the software and tools used by your project team, and to make sure you understand the rules and procedures of the lab. Finish reading through this Canvas course and remember to ask the Lab Supervisor and Lab Coordinator if there are parts you don't understand.

Once you're onboarded, you agree to ask for help if you have a problem. This could be as simple as asking your team for technical advice, if they know a good Photoshop tutorial, or even reaching out to EML staff if your workload is getting too much.

Something went wrong, what do I do?

Sometimes life takes precedence over EML: people have school, family commitments, even medical emergencies.

If you cannot make a meeting because you have a test or assignment coming up, tell your project team as well as the Lab Supervisor and Lab Coordinator.

If your workload is getting too much, tell the Lab Supervisor and Lead Developer.

If you are having an issue with entering hours or receiving payment, tell the Lab Supervisor and Lab Coordinator.

If you have a technical issue--perhaps you can't log into something, perhaps your laptop broke--tell your project team as well as the Lab Supervisor and Lab Coordinator.

If you're having a conflict on your team, and you would like help or advice, tell the Lab Supervisor.

And finally, if you're struggling with a technical issue, please ask a staff member for help or advice; there is almost always someone in the lab who can help.
