About

My name is Xinyue Liao, my first name is very meaningful in Chinese as "Xin" means “I am the nucleus in my family”, "Yue" means, “my parents are really excited about my birth”. My cousin named me Celena as my English name because it means the moon in Greek and “Yue” sounds like “moon” in Chinese.

I was born in November 2nd, 2000 in Guangzhou, China. I came to Canada when I was only fourteen years old, and this year is the fifth year that I have studied in Canada. Unlike some students who chose Arts, I prefer the wonderful symbols, numbers and changeable geometric figures in Science. The reason that I chose this program is I want to develop my language skills for better understanding and expression.

Goals and Interests

For me, Arts is the most challenging major because I did not pass History and Geography in China when I was in Grade 7. However, I always believe the famous Chinese quote "Miracle is efforts in disguise". My goal for my major in Arts is to let myself see different world and point of view. Also, I want to get confident when I speaking during the classes.

I am interested in figuring out the difficulties that I face; it gives me a sense of accomplishment and pride. In my opinion, happiness comes from the achievement that I get.

Hobbies

I love to walk on the beach in the mid-night when I get into trouble, because I feel like everything can be solve easily when the sea breeze blow on my face and I think that sea is so wide therefore it seems the sea can hold everything for me. Also, sea is a secret keeper and excellent listener for me.

The other hobby for me is that I really like eating food. While eating, I can forget all of the annoyances around me.
