From UBC Wiki

1 year = 365 days = 8760 hours
180 days are non-school days = 4320 hours
of the 185 school days, 1480 hours are spent sleeping which leaves 2840 for everything else

Number of days of instruction in one year BC = approx. 185

185 days x 5 blocks/day = 925 blocks of study

If the average block of class time is 1hr 5mins, then that equals 996.94 hours of time spent in school per year.

That's 35% of all those hours left for everything else.

Is it not possible to encompass all that needs to be taught within this time? Can't the other 65% be used for any number of other things besides more schoolwork?
