Self-Introduction

I was born in the city of Shuozhou in the Province of Shanxi, China. My hometown is in the Loess Plateau, where the average altitude is similar as the Scottish Highlands(around 1000m). I came to Canada in 2015, just the day that Super Bowl was held, and I watched the game and then found the game interesting, then I joined the football team of my school. Go Hyacks

Interested Areas of Study

History, Linguistics, Anthropology, and Geography are the disciplines that I'm interested in studying during my university education. When I was in elementary school, I already showed my interest in studying history, since it gives me the clue of what happened in the past that I would not rather know. Later on, I found Geography amusing because it not only teaches me the physical and cultural features of my homeland but every other place on the earth. However, just knowing the Geography is not enough. To communicate with people from different areas, we first need to know the language that they are speaking. Therefore, I think the studies of communication would help me understand the world better. As for anthropology, to be specifically socio-cultural anthropology, I found it fascinating because it explains the question of who we are, which would not be likely to be answered accurately otherwise.
