About
RezHub is a direct connect (DC) file sharing network created and run by UBC students, exclusively for UBC students. So far for the 2011/2012 year we are averaging a daily peak share of about 40 TB, that's a whole lotta stuff! Come check it out.
Mission: To provide all UBC students with free and unlimited access to terabytes upon terabytes of awesomeness at lightening fast speeds.
On RezHub you will never have your connection speed throttled or your usage limited (unlike off-campus torrenting), and even if you are in the penalty box, RezHub will still work at full speed! It's a beautiful thing.

FAQs
What is RezHub?
RezHub is a file sharing network created and run by UBC students, exlusively for UBC students.
Why should I use RezHub?
Because you get unlimited uploading and downloading, it gets around all the restrictions UBC IT try and put in place to limit your file transfers, it connects you to hundreds of other UBC students over the super fast network on campus, and it is, and always will be, 100% free to use.
How does RezHub work?
RezHub works somewhat similarly to how torrents work (which is something you might be more familiar with). You first have to download and install a P2P (Peer-2-Peer) client program which will let you connect to other users and download their files (similar to what a torrent client like uTorrent does). However, instead of going to a website and searching for torrent files, you do all your searching from within the P2P client you installed. That's all there is to it.
Will the RezHub server ever give me a virus?
No. The RezHub server will never give you a virus, trojan, addware, spyware, or any other form of malicious or unwanted code.
Also, both ApexDC++ and Spakespeer (the P2P clients that RezHub recommends) gaurantee the same. Both are open source, meaning that anyone can view the raw code that makes up the program to verify that the code is clean.
Do I have to use ApexDC++ or Shakespeer to connect?
No, you can use any P2P client you wish. RezHub simply suggests those two clients for new users because they provide a good balance between program stability, online support, perfomance, and features.
Will RezHub ever cause me to go into the Penalty Box for exceeding my 24 hour transfer quota or for excessive flows?
No, and no.
Since we ensures that only people on the UBC network can access RezHub, and because RezHub connects two user directly to one another, all files transfers occur strictly within the UBC network and therefor don't count against your 24 hour transfer quota.
As for excessive flows, RezHub essentially only creates one connection for every user that you are uploading/downloading from/to. Since realistically you will probably only have one or two dozen people max ULing/DLing from you at a time, RezHub won't cause you to go into the Penalty Box for excessive flows.
What different locations can I connect to RezHub from?
Lots! Vanier, Totem, Rits, Fairview, Thunderbird, Gage, Marine, Green College, Carey College, St. Andrews College, St. John's College, anywhere with UBC Wireless, or if none of those take your fancy you can connect from just about anywhere using the UBC VPN system.
