UBC CVC
The CVC, formerly known as (Chinese Varsity Club) is a not for profit social club of the AMS that is committed to its members to provide a wide range of fun events that foster and create the best social environment for its members. The CVC is one of the largest clubs on campus with over 1200 members, led by 70 executive team members. As a campus social club, the CVC holds two to four small and large scale events per month, from athletic tournaments, talent shows, all the way to dances that house over 1200 people. Events are for students not only at UBC but across Greater Vancouver.

FAQ: Wait! CVC sounds great but do I have to be Chinese to join? A: Absolutely not!
Although the CVC still retains its name because of its legacy of being established 80 years ago by a group of Chinese students, we have long since evolved into a club that is accepting of all cultures and ethnic backgrounds. In addition, this year CVC is focusing on promoting student social wellness to all UBC students. The CVC is a not for profit social club of the AMS that is committed to its members to provide a wide range of fun events that foster and create the best social environment for its members. CVC events are opportunities for members to make new friends and to further their social wellness. A group of dedicated executives work to put on annual events (eg. Ski Trip, Supaskillz, and Chin & Chow Dinner Theatre) and constantly work to evolve the club to provide a truly personalized social experience. Executives also enjoy the benefits of learning from each other in a teamwork environment, which contributes to the development of diverse skill sets, and all the while…making life-long friendships. CVC believes that the balance between academics and social wellness needs to be maintained throughout the school year. Today, it has grown and evolved to become a club that is open to all ethnicities and cultures, stressing the multicultural makeup of Vancouver.
