Hi, I love the topic that you have selected and the statistics you have chosen really emphasizes this mosaic of multiculturalism that Canada consistently preaches, but maybe not practices to the same extent. I think one of the themes that you can explore in your paper is W.E.B. Du Bois' idea of double consciousness in his '"The Souls of Black Folk." This idea of double consciousness is very prevalent in Canadian society where first or second-generation immigrants are constantly struggling with maintaining their cultural heritage and fitting into the ideal Canadian identity. As a suggestion you could discuss the ethnic makeup of different provinces in subtopics and I would love to see how Vancouver fits into and deals with its second-generation immigrant population.
