Your choice of topic is very interesting and I believe that with the use of researching the history of how people were punished in Asian countries for not being heterosexual might also be interesting. Touching on famous people in Korea who do not fit the norm of being strictly female or male also might be a great point. I think focusing on the history and the actual facts of the countries governments are important as an explanation as to why the social norms are that way in their societies.
