Fascinating topic - comment on role of gender?

I really enjoyed reading your wiki entry on the Hikikomori Phenomenon. I think your sections are well organized and I'm interested to see the Reintegration sections as well when the wiki is completed. My one suggestion is I would love to see a section or even a few sentences on what role gender roles play in contributing to the various factors you've described. You mentioned that hikikomori are primarily men, though recently more women as well, it would be great to see some research, statistics, or theory on why there is this uneven gender distribution.
