Expanding "Schools and Institutions" section

Expanding "Schools and Institutions" section

I think this section is an interesting way of looking at the parent's roles - through the expectations taught to their children - but I also feel as if the section is a little scarce. I found a few articles which I think you could use to expand the section and provide a more complete argument:

http://www.child-encyclopedia.com/gender-early-socialization/according-experts/role-schools-early-socialization-gender-differences - focuses on how school/classroom environments may teach kids gender roles, and how educators can help create a more integrated space

http://www.tolerance.org/gender-spectrum - focuses on how school/classroom environments can enforce the gender binary in students, while suggesting ways in which educators can create a more inclusive space for children outside the binary

The other piece of feedback I have is that I would be interested to see a section on how same-sex couples and transgender/genderqueer parents fit into our social expectations of parenthood. Even though I think society largely expects the archetypal "nuclear family," "non-traditional" families are more and more prevalent and I believe this is a good area to explore, while currently your page seems to focus mainly on heterosexual couples.
