Section on attitudes

Hey there, great wiki entry, lots of in-depth information into this topic. While you do go into the effects of the one child policy, I would have liked to see a section on the attitudes towards the one child policy, i.e it was probably accepted when it was first put into place but now that the current policy is a two child policy as a governmental reaction. I'd like to know if these attitudes are still the same or having seen the effects of the one child policy, have attitudes changed.

I will reply to your question here if you don't mind. The OCP never really gained much support in China but the citizens were forced to oblige(or sent for forced abortion/sterilization). The main goal for the OCP was only to reduce population boom in China. However, little thought were put into considering the effects it might have on its population(esp. those who live in rural area where they relied heavily on farming as a source for income, restricting reproduction to 1 child is thus harsh). This is also why some people would rather not report the birth of their child and raise them in secret. Hope that helps!
