SPB review notes
Appearance
- Please follow the template style of the other pages. See e.g. Intentional interference with things page & Invasion of Privacy page.
- The title should be "Trespass to the person", not "Trespass person".
- Delete "Overview" heading: the overview is the section that comes before the table of contents. Note, no need to write "This article will explore the elements of each of these three torts" - it is clear from context.
- Move the Criminal Law section to below False imprisonment
- Delete "Elements of the torts" heading and section. The elements should be set out in coloured tables within each tort heading. See e.g. Invasion of Privacy page.
- Delete "Key cases" heading and section.
- Delete "Tort law in the news" section. These summaries can be reduced and specific cases to appear in boxes to the right of the relevant topic as it appears in the page. I.e. Jake Roper material should appear in box to the right of battery section. See e.g. Intentional infliction of mental suffering page. The subtopics "Coughing and the COVID-19 pandemic" and "Hockey games" could appear as subheadings under battery.
- The Canadian Tire case should also cite to the judgment: https://www.canlii.org/en/on/onsc/doc/2016/2016onsc4926/2016onsc4926.html
- Change "Multiple-choice quiz questions" heading to just "Quiz". This section should be at the bottom of the page.
- Make sure statements are supported by authority. E.g. "In some jurisdictions battery is identified as non-consensual touching (e.g., New Zealand), whereas this is not the case in others" - where is the source citation?
