Now, with the increase of international students, how to improve the living conditions of international students has become a very important topic. I want to talk about what they can do from four groups: local students and residents, university administrators, professors and other international students.
For professors, more help is provided during and after class when international students come for help. However, some international students may be afraid to communicate with professors at the beginning. At this time, I think professors can encourage international students to communicate after class.
For university administrators, they have little chance to face international students themselves, but I think they can set up some help centers or hold some activities for international students to better integrate them.
For local students and residents, I think the most important thing is that they should respect the cultures from different countries and learn about different cultures through exchanges with international students.
For other international students, because they have some experience, they can tell the new international students what they have experienced. When international students meet people from the same country, they usually feel a sense of belonging and can get along with each other more easily.

Firstly, local students and Residents. Those people are who already living here for a long time. That means they have enough living experience here. They can show you around the campus. Introducing the different buildings for you. They can also tell you about local food and supermarkets where you can buy some ingredients around your apartments or dormitory. Secondly, University Administrators. Those people are working in the school for a long time, they know about your school very well. You can ask them any questions to them to know more information about your school. Such as, what courses you should take that help you major in your program? Thirdly, professors. Professors can impart knowledge to you and give you some help in learning. However, it is difficult to find them every time because one professor should teach more than three hundred students. Now, you can find international students for help who are the last group of people. Those people can help you in your learning. Give you some advice and share their study experience with you. Also, they will come from different countries which means you can learn different cultures and languages.
Local Students and Residents
Local students and residents can try to communicate with international students, exchange their own views on life and learning, and enhance relations through dialogue, as well as international students understanding and integration of other countries and local areas.
University Administrators University administrators can know the approximate proportion of people from different countries and regions in advance, and then hold festivals in that country on specific days. At the same time, they can invite them to participate. Whether it is a festival or custom in their country or not, it is always beneficial to participate and can be integrated into it.
Professors The professor can intersperse some interesting stories of international students in the classroom to attract attention while increasing classroom interaction and enabling students to integrate into the classroom faster.
International Students For international students, can do is to try to adapt, integrate and communicate with the outside world more, not rigidly adhering to their own social groups, but communicating with local people and other international students more to achieve the goal of cultural rejuvenation.
Local students and residents can introduce some local rules or culture to international students to help them catch up with local life. And they can tell the newcomer which store they usually go, and which food delivery platform locals always use. Administrators can help international students by introducing the course and major, or telling the international students where should they go when students have specific things to do on campus. For example, they can tell you where can you ask questions about insurance. Chefs For international students, I think the most important thing for them is the food they are able to get in campus. Because food that taste like home can really change a people’s mood when they are studying across the ocean and far away from their home.
Residents Residents should keep their noise down while they are walking and talking in the hall way in the late night. Because the noise isolation is pretty bad in the residence.
University administers They should have more patients to international students because international students are not familiar with how things are working in another county.
Professor Professors should have an concluding heart that understands different cultures.

When international students first come to Kelowna Canada to live by themselves, it must be hard and challenging for them to individually live in another country, a brand new environment. If they can feel welcomed by others such as local people, it can give mental support to them. Meanwhile, international students need to know how to use the campus sources like office hours, and learning hubs; the professors and university administrators can actively answer their questions and provide instructions for them. Additionally, international students can find some people who come from the same country as them so that they can communicate with each other easily. Professors and university administrators, they will communicate with plenty of people to give others guidance.
Local Students and Residents University Administrators Local students have been live for a long time in this city. So they must be more familiar with the place, food and culture. They can help international students adapt the new environment. When students have any problems about courses and school activities, they can go to see the university administrators. Professors International Students Professors teach students courses and knowledges. They help students learn more details in their major and also provides the midterm exam and final exam to test students’ learning skill. All this is new to international students. So they may need a lot of help from university administrators. At the same time, they themselves can let more local students know about the culture from different countries. It's also a good blend of cultures.
Kiichiro Suganuma Local students: Being kind, welcoming, and friendly, help adapt the new situation. Knowing people helps life in university so much easier, so being close to people helps a lot.
University Administrators Introducing what international students need to do such as applying MSP, SIN number, etc. In addition to that, university administrators can set social activities and introduce them to new students.
Professors
Giving students time to adapt the new environment for the first few weeks if possible, so students can be prepared and be less stressed.
International Students Being kind, welcoming, and friendly. I believe some international students have the same problems or things they need to do, so they can help each other by sharing useful information. They can understand similar stresses, such as leaving their home country alone, speaking different language, etc.

The professors at school give us lessons, so they can solve our academic problems for us.The efficient administrators of the school can help students solve various problems they encounter in school, such as student accommodation. Local students can help international students integrate into the local environment better, because local people have been living in this place all the time, they should know more about the culture here. International students should help each other, because they come from different countries, they can help each other, no matter in study or life, which will help them better adapt to the new environment.

What local students and residents can do is to introduce the places nearby that international students can visit. In addition, as an international student, I also want to know the app commonly used here. For example, if I want to buy movie tickets, which app should I use.
What university administrators can do is to increase the variety of food from different countries. As an international student, I hope I can have more choices. In addition, I believe it will be helpful if university administrators can provide guidance to international students, such as how to apply for medical insurance, how to open a bank account, and introduce policies related to international students.
What the professor can do is to slow down the speech rate, because there may be many new words for international students to understand and memorize, and if the speech rate is too fast, international students may not catch the words. In addition, if the professor can explain a concept with simple vocabulary, it will make it easier for international students.
What international students can do is to help each other and share information, such as the name of a delicious Chinese restaurant.

In addition to showing international students respect, local residents can also provide them with information about the country and their culture. Since cultures differ from country to country, learning informative and precise knowledge about the culture of the environment you live in is so important for international students and everyone else. This is where local residents can help international students the most. They can help international students to adjust into the community as quickly as possible.
Professors should be more considerate and helpful with international students, because when they join a new university and community everything is challenging for them. Professors can help the students with their language skills and extra sources for studying. Professors can also help international students with making a friendly environment In the class for them, encouraging them to participate and share their weak points with them in private so they can work on it.
Administrators at the university can foster a welcoming academic and social environment on campus that will help overseas students feel comfortable and cared for. To help international students feel at home, university administrators could, for instance, start international student clubs on campus. Additionally, university officials must offer overseas students paper work and health management.
Students who are themselves from abroad can assist new international students with their issues. There will always be questions that new international students have regarding their lives or the school, and since they have already been in Kelowna, they can assist new international students with their problems. They can share the information and knowledge that they have achieved from the local community and they can share the sources that helped them with the new international students. This way they can avoid a lot of mistakes that new international students make, and they can save them from a lot of troubles.
To begin with, local students and residents are friendly to international students. They have more experience living in Canada, so if you have any questions or need help about involve in Canadian society, they are willing to help you. In addition, communicating or making friends with them can improve your English as well. Also, University administrations help students quickly involved in university life, by such as creating activities, doing speeches to inform students and responding to students who need help. As for professors, they treat everyone the same, and they are willing to help anyone with questions. In addition, when you involving other international students can make you feel sense of belonging, which is we are all come from different cultures and language backgrounds, and study in Canada. In addition, you can learn many new things when you chat with people that have totally different backgrounds from you.
Firstly all the people in campus should show their kindness to the new students, because most of the students come from the places out of Kelowna. For local student and residents, they know this city very well so they can introduce this city to new students, make them be familiar to a new city. For the university administrators, they have most the information about the university, so they might be able to provided some needed information for the new students, medical insurance is a great example. For the professors, they would help students in the academic aspect, and show their kindness that students would not be afraid to ask. Finally for international student, most of them have the same experience as the new arrivals have, so they should share their experiences about how they adapted the new environment, and give new students some advice about homesickness. For the local students' positive attitude will influence new students when they first time arrived to a new environment, and the residence assistants will introduce you to all the attention, and you will have the chance to meet the students living with you on the same floor. Therefore, you will make a lot of new friends. For the university administration that is an important apartment with many resources that can help students solve problems such as selecting courses, academic problems solving, and resources distribution. Those things can make your life easier in UBCO. Professors have office hours so that students can ask for help. Some professors will let you contract TA in some classes because the course is too large. International students may confess when their first time gets here. And many international students are facing visa and insurance problems that they can go to the UNC building on the second floor. It has an apartment that calls Global engagement, which can help international students to solve their problems. And many clubs and activities can help international students meet more friends and know more about the school.

Local Students and Residents can be so helpful in regard to the international student by showing respect they are saying that they respect each student's culture and that’s value. Local Students and Residents can help others by giving them some resources that can be helpful for their lives in the city. And more by sharing the knowledge, they gain they can make some work easier for other students that they are not local.
University administrators are the opposite of what we think they are helpful. By providing some resources and help to the international they can genuinely make students feel more welcome and their stress gets lower. Also, University administrators can provide some mental and health support for students who are from different countries so they don't feel alone or uncared for.
Professors at University should be more understanding and considerate of international students or whoever is not from around the city. They should make this a friendly environment so when a student wants to ask a question they won't afraid. By giving them extra help or extra practice sheets they can help students to understand better what they learned.
Lastly for the International students themselves. They kind of had the same experience some of them more and some of them less than others and so this should lead to understanding the new arrivals by helping and sharing their knowledge with them.
