Wage inequality is a huge topic particularly as of recently and I really appreciate you highlighting this issue. There are many additional cases displaying wage inequality that have emerged lately in Hollywood, and I would urge you to check them out if you have not already done so. One example which comes to mind is the case of Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams' extreme wage difference for reshoots on their film "All The Money in the World", or for the Netflix Original Series, "The Crown", where the lead actress was paid less than her on screen husband. I suggest you include a breadth of cases like these which emphasize the wage gap, and maybe refer to new movements and campaigns that have stemmed from the backlash.
I really enjoyed your WIKI post on wage inequality. I think you did a really great job overall demonstrating that this issue is happening and. Enjoyed your glass ceiling section. The one thing that I think would improve your post is if you added a section on women of color or women with disabilities. Do minority group earn less money then white women. I would have also liked to know if their are activist groups that are fighting against the systemic system of capitalist inequality. Overall, you did a great job and I enjoyed your information on the topic.
Hello,
I love your topic you chose to write about and found it very interesting and informational. One thing that I feel like you should have added was the fact that you mention women in general, women with children and their opportunities the they receive in the work field but you don't mention anything about the discrepancy between white women and women of colour. Some statistics for you; Hispanic or Latina women make 54%, Native American and Alaska Native women make 59%, Pacific Islander women make 62%, and African American women make 63% of what a white man makes. And also women with disabilities make 65% and transgendered women are paid a third less when they transition (American Association of University Women). So in order to truly emphasis the discrepancy of the wage gap I believe you should talk about all aspects of the wage gap not just women vs men. The wage gap isn't necessarily a men vs women issue, it also includes racism, discrimination against disabled people and homophobia.
