Suggestions for Wiki

Hey, your Wiki is very in-depth and inclusive of most of the great political and legal happenings around abortion. The case studies that you have referenced to have been aptly summarized and reflect well upon how the sensitive topic of the dialogue of pro-choice and pro-life has progressed throughout history. I would say, however, that it would be fantastic if you could add on some theoretical perspectives on the abortion debate, particularly that of the feminist perspective. In our previous units that have featured feminism, prominent feminists have taken it offensively when male politicians or figures decided on policy or language about what feminists consider as a purely feminine problem. Abortion is a sensitive topic, yes, but according to these feminists (particularly now, second-wave and third-wave feminists), the topic should only pertain to women as it is about a woman's body, unconcerned with man. I suggest that pertaining to this, you could also expand a little bit on how most of the political-legal abortion debates (either in the Parliament or any other governmental body, like the judiciary) is hosted and spoken upon by mostly male figures on what is clearly a female issue. Also, I noticed that most of your Wiki is focused on the abortion debate in Canada. May I suggest that you modify your title to something along the lines of the "Canadian Debate on Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice" or its equivalent? I think it might just help consolidate and clarify your Wiki article and show what it is about specifically at a glance. I understand that the abortion debate is a huge, huge subject, so it is nearly impossible to condense it into a Wiki article on a worldwide scale; however, I believe that it will help clear up the Wiki and make its meaning transparent. Overall, I enjoyed your Wiki; it is very well researched and really shows the perspectives and progresses on both sides of the abortion debate.

Best,

Jina J.

Great wiki page! Very concise yet in depth, and reminded me very much of an actual wiki page. Other than that the only comments about it I have are your two last sub topics (fetal personhood and religion) do not have any text. Other than that great job!!

Also, I really enjoyed how you used a case study to illustrate what you are talking about.

Hi Rachel, Thanks for the positive feedback! I am not quite finished so that is why the last subtopics don't have any text - I am hoping to finish those up this week! But thank you for your comments :)
