This entry is fascinating. Thank you for writing with so much precision and nuance. The intersection of gender, nature, and Indigenous ways of knowledge is something I had always hoped to understand better, and not until reading your entry and learning about Ecofeminism did I realize the full potential of this field of study. I appreciate how you point out the reductive binaries that exist in making a female relationship to land stuck inside patriarchal tropes of the matriarch. I think that it is imperative to make room for a relationship to the female gender outside of the patriarchal colonial gaze. I think Ecofeminism is a beautiful rubric for reframing one's relationship to gender and land, thank you for this wiki page.
Thanks Maya! I really enjoyed doing this research as I can relate to these parallels so much. I feel like the timing is perfect to start really considering the dual oppression that exists, and the systems of power that influence them. I enjoyed exploring this so much I would like to continue this research going forward, and possibly keep sharing what I have found. Thanks for reading !
