Hi! This is such an interesting topic that I never considered before. This page completely enlightened my North American preconceived notions and definition of racial categories. It is so interesting that in our social world, we tend to see colour as a biological paradox; however, I never really considered that in other nations that the definition of perceived race, colour or ethnicity could fit onto some sort of a spectrum for dark to light skin tone. As you addressed on your wiki page, race has the detrimental power to shape the power dynamics of societal structures, but what are some of the ways in the South American context that governments and decision making bodies are making changes within their continent or individual countries.
