Suggestion: Maybe more explanations on some terminologies and the emergence of PTSD?

Hi, I enjoyed reading your wiki page on PTSD. It provides me with a comprehensive idea of what PTSD is from psychiatric and medical perspective.

I am not sure if you have finished the web page yet, if not, here are my suggestions and hope they can help you finalize the content. First, as a student who is not in psychology major, I am little bit confused by some professional terminologies such as "intrusive symptoms", "avoidance and numbing symptoms", and "arousal symptoms" and their significance in the context. It would be great if you could provide definitions of those words and further explain why it is important to categorize the symptoms for medicalization of PTSD. Secondly, as your wrote in "who is at risk?" section, you mentioned that not everyone who have experienced traumatizing experience will develop PTSD. I think it would be interesting if you could expand this topic a little bit more and provide an alternative understanding of PTSD other than psychiatric definitions. For example, you mentioned that PTSD can happen on people who are lack of social support after traumatizing experience, and it tends to coexist with other mental illness. It makes me start doubting if PTSD should really be considered as an "abnormal" experience that needed medication, as it is understandable for the people who are in unfortunate situation to behave differently than the people who always live in love and peace. Here is the article that I think might be useful for your topic: Bistoen G. (2016) Individualization, Decontextualization and Depoliticization in the Biomedical PTSD-Approach to Trauma. In: Trauma, Ethics and the Political beyond PTSD. Palgrave Macmillan, London
