From 1(a) we saw that the equations for the planes S1 and S2 are

2x1+x2x3=1x1+x2=1.

These two equations taken together are precisely the equation form of the line since any x1,x2 and x3 that satisfy this will be on both planes and therefore be on the line of intersection.
