Science:Math Exam Resources/Courses/MATH101 B/April 2025/Question 08 (a)/Solution 1

From UBC Wiki

For any number a, consider the general term, en2ean and examine its limits,

limnen2ean=limnen2an.

We note that: n2an=n(na). Thus, as n, (na), and so en2an+, and in particular,

limnen2an=+0. Since the terms of the series do not tend to zero, the series limnen2ean diverges for all a by the divergence test.

Alternatively, one can use a ratio test.
