Consider income after taxes: f(x)=xT(x).

Differentiate: f(x)=1T(x).

Using the given expression for T(x): f(x)=1x2(2x2+3)(1+2x2)2.

Write over a common denominator: f(x)=(1+2x2)2x2(2x2+3)(1+2x2)2.

Expanding and simplifying the expression above, we get:

f(x)=1+x2+2x4(1+2x2)2.

The numerator 1+x2+2x4 is always positive, and the denominator (1+2x2)2 is always positive. Hence, f(x)>0for all x.

Therefore, xT(x) is an increasing function of income.
