Newsgroups

Newsgroups (also known as Usenet) are much like the early Bulletin Board System where users can subscribe to a group and read, post, and reply to messages. There are some major differences though. Newsgroups are generally hosted on public servers, and the servers communicate with each other so that regardless of where the message was posted, it is available to all users that access any server.
