Consider using similar language to the file naming and what G+PS says e.g.
It is recommended that you enter your title using the Roman alphabet to best support the widest range of search and discovery possibilities for your work. However, if you prefer to use special characters, please ensure that they are Unicode Standard characters or UTF-8 encoded.
Should this replace the "Important" note as well? so that the section says:
It is recommended that you enter your title using the Roman alphabet to best support the widest range of search and discovery possibilities for your work. However, if you prefer to use special characters, please ensure that they are Unicode Standard characters or UTF-8 encoded. cIRcle can handle many, though not all, Unicode characters. Note: It may not be possible to render certain symbols correctly in the cIRcle abstract field. Readers can download the PDF of your thesis to read the correct abstract.
What about:
It is recommended that you enter your title using the Roman alphabet to best support the widest range of search and discovery possibilities for your work. However, if you prefer to use special characters, please ensure that they are Unicode Standard characters or UTF-8 encoded. Please note that with any use of special characters it may not be possible to render certain symbols correctly in the cIRcle abstract field--readers will need to download the PDF of your thesis to read the original abstract.
Sorry it's been so long I have zero idea what I was thinking at the time but what do you think about this phrasing?
It is strongly recommended that you enter your title using the Roman alphabet to best support the widest range of search and discovery possibilities for your work. If you do choose to use special characters, please ensure that they are Unicode Standard characters or UTF-8 encoded. However, please note that it may not be possible to render certain symbols correctly in the cIRcle abstract field. To view the exact special characters, readers will need to download the PDF of your thesis to read the correct abstract.
