DRAFT!!! Teaching and Learning Advisory Committee (TLAC) Meeting Agenda – November 24, 2010

Present: Carolyn Carvajal, Aleteia Greenwood, Kimberley Hintz, Paul Joseph, Katherine Miller, Julie Mitchell, Jo-Anne Naslund, Trish Rosseel, Sarah Stang, Lea Starr, Lindsay Ure

*LIBS - Jo-Anne

Action: John Strang will be asked to conduct information interviews with library staff to determine needs for LIBS and report back to TLAC. TLAC will participate in a working group with project management to be decided.

*Communication Work - Trish Discussion of library carousel and marketing instruction.

Action: working group - Katherine, Lindsay & Jo-Anne to create a plan for including content in the library carousel. Goal of one story per month. Copy Julie Mitchell with content sent to Glenn so that she may reuse in the Portrait of Learning and the Learning Commons website carousel.

*December TLAC Forum/TOTS Session Check in - Katherine, Lindsay

Contest using screencasting software to follow the TLAC/TOTS session. Trish, Katherine & Lindsay to come up with criteria for contest. Julie to invite CTLT staff to attend.

*Discussion/Feedback on LOAC Discussion Paper - Lindsay Action: Trish to compile comments from meeting and circulate to TLAC by Friday Nov 26th.

*Discussion regarding instruction statistics, plan for reviewing - Trish postponed to December meeting

*Integrating Summon into our teaching and learning efforts - Eugene Eugene demonstrated Summon and asked TLAC members for comments. Announced a beta version will go live early next week.
