Library Cards & Borrowing

Library Cards

The UBCcard now serves as a library card for current (active) UBC students, faculty and staff. You are eligible if you have an active appointment with and are paid by UBC.

Retired staff and certain units on campus who are ineligible for UBCcards at this time can continue to obtain or renew cards online or in person at Koerner Library, Woodward Library or the three hospital branch libraries.

Borrower Services

If you have any Library card inquiries, please call 604.822.3869.

Electronic Resources

Most online resources are available to UBC faculty, staff and students both on and off campus. Authentication may require using your UBCcard or CWL. License agreements with database vendors require that remote users are always authenticated. See Accessing Electronic Resources for information.

Hospital staff should refer to this Services at UBC Teaching Hospitals first.

Assistance

Reference assistance and Library workshops and training sessions are available free of charge. If you have a particular research need, you may wish to contact the appropriate subject librarian directly.
