Summary
Black Canadian teenager Billy Robinson lives in Surrey, B.C., in the 1960s. As one of the few non-Caucasians in the town he experiences the racism and prejudice of the community as a child, and tension intensifies when he begins to date Mary, the white girl next door. Issues of racism, interracial relationships, teen pregnancy and abortion are dealt with in this novel.
