Learning Commons:Chapman Learning Commons/Vision Statement

The Chapman Learning Commons provides an enhanced learning environment for students, staff, faculty, researchers and community members in the refurbished central section of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre. We facilitate integrated support for research and information literacy instruction, writing assistance, tutoring, learning skills programs and technology through one-to-one help, workshops, peer mentoring and virtual resources and services. Our team works closely with departments across the UBC Library as well as units across campus in the development and delivery of programs and services.

The Chapman Learning Commons welcomes all members of the UBC community, as well as members of the public. We seek to provide an open, inviting learning environment featuring comfortable seating, study tables, group work areas, innovative technology and easy access to friendly, knowledgeable staff.
