If the patron is having issues, ask if the problem is isolated to the UBCsecure network or if the problem is also affecting other networks
If the problem is isolated to UBCsecure, ask them to forget the network, and from a secure wifi connection, go to AutoConnect Now

If the patron is a student, staff, or faculty from another school and require a secure internet network, google [their school] and [eduroam] to help set up their account.

Connecting to AliBaba VPN (for students in China and other countries with restricted internet access):

Open the "Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client" application that you use to connect to UBC's myVPN.
In the bar where you would normally type myvpn.ubc.ca, copy and paste in the number that is closest to where you live:
- For China North (Bejing): 101.200.167.58
- For China South (Shenzen): 47.112.106.142
- For China East (Shanghai): 139.196.243.216
Click Connect.
When asked to log in, use your CWL username and password, but add student.int to the end of your username.
For example, if your username is abc123, you should use "abc123.student.int" instead.
Please Note: Although you will still be able to connect without adding the student.int onto the end of your CWL username, adding student.int will allow you to access the full benefits of the Alibaba GA service for the best chance of improving your connection.
Once logged in, you should be able to access the resources you need!
